I used to be a teacher. I always taught students to dream big, be brave, work hard, and believe in themselves. So after a 13-year career as an educator, I chose to take my own advice. I decided to give up the hustle and bustle of daily life in the classroom for a different kind of hustle—a career in writing.

Writing is a blend of art and science, allowing me to be creative and academic. My experience teaching writing, grammar, spelling, and other skills essential to literacy has honed my attention to detail and given me a broad understanding of writing for many audiences and purposes. Mentoring student writers taught me how to be a better one.

What’s in a Name?
Hi, I’m the founder of Andrea Brooke Content. My “real” name is Andrea, but most people call me Brooke. After going by my middle name my whole life, I can’t imagine a world where I wouldn’t have to explain my “middle-name-as-a-first-name” situation. I’m totally familiar with the mail addressed to two different names, the first day of school roll call confusion, and reminding myself to answer when they call for “Andrea” in the waiting room of the doctor or dentist. After all, being in the middle name club is one of my defining quirks, so I named my company in honor of it…
